Sleep Matters

One third of the UK population suffers from insomnia which is the inability to get enough, uninterrupted sleep.

This can leave you feeling exhausted during the day, having difficulty concentrating and being irritable and out of sorts.Symptoms can include having trouble getting to sleep, staying asleep, waking too early and feeling tired on awaking.

There is no one specific reason for insomnia but some conditions are known to make someone more likely to experience it.

Stress is a major contributor, so is an acute illness or trauma – injury, accident or losing a loved one. Exams or stress at work can also disrupt your sleep. In most cases normal sleep will return once the situation is resolved or the person gets used to the new situation.

Then there are lifestyle factors and the sleeping environment that could be the issue.

We will help you to identify the reasons for your insomnia.

It takes a while to dramatically improve or cure your insomnia but you have to start somewhere and here is a great place to start.

We will help you to understand more about sleep and the importance of getting quality sleep every night.

We will provide you with lots of tips and information and take you through the recommended steps to improving your sleep.

In addition to this we will teach you relaxation techniques, including self hypnosis. Relaxation techniques will not only help improve your sleep but will have a positive effect on all aspects of your life.

By the end of the 3 week course you should be seeing some improvement in your sleep which will encourage you to continue practicing the new things you have learnt.

In some cases a person may have a more serious chronic sleep disorder. We aim to help you identify if you have a sleep disorder where medical intervention is required.
